Two great artists always keen to try out new things in a musical head-to-head: in a concert entitled Dolce Duello, the mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli and the cellist Sol Gabetta present Baroque arias for voice and cello. Not, however, as competitors or adversaries: rather the warm, expressive singing voice of the one and the sonorous, virtuoso playing of the other complement each other brilliantly. The two are supported by the Cappella Gabetta, an Early music ensemble under the direction of Sol’s brother, Andrés.
