There is Thomas Tallis - (1505-1585, English), famous for his church music (I love this one - http://youtu.be/2VlLF4K6o_4 "Te Deum" («Тебя, Бога, хвалим») - it was used in the movie "Elizabeth".

Richard Addinsell (1904-1977, English) - "Warsaw Concerto" - written for a film called Dangerous Moonlight in 1941. Apparently they wanted to use a Rachmaninov piano concerto, but Rachmaninov's lawyers said no (or, another story - they were unable to persuade Rachmaninov himself to write a piece), so they asked Mr. Addinsell to write a piece in the style on Rachmaninov.
